Shivaree Star
We are looking for the opening act for Roger Creager at Shivaree on June 1st. Artists will be judged by Zack and Jim of Waco 100. The winners will be offered a paid contract to play a 45 minute set at Shivaree on the Gatesville square.
We will also be selecting a crowd favorite based on votes from the audience, $1/vote. Entry into the event is $10. Each paid entry also gets a ticket to see Branded Heart play later that evening.
- Competitors may be solo artists or bands, and they must use instruments. The Shivaree committee have final approval rights on all entries.
- The Shivaree committee and Bare Bones are providing sound and a drum kit. Bands must use the equipment provided.
- Bands may only bring their own instruments, except drum kits. Please contact the Chamber prior to the event for any special considerations.
- Bands will present 2 songs to the judges, with a maximum time limit of 10 minutes. There will be a 10 minute turn around between bands.
- Cost of entry is $25 in advance and after April 10th $35. Family and friends of band members will have to pay entry fees at the door.
- Bands must check in one hour prior to their scheduled slot. Day of entries must check in at 11 am the day of the event.
- The band line up will be posted on the Shivaree Facebook Page on Thursday, April 11th. Performance times will be assigned based on when applications are submitted.
- The winner of Shivaree Star will be the paid opening act for Roger Creager on June 1, 2019. They will play a 45 minute act at 7 pm on the Square in Gatesville.
- A band will also win crowd favorite. Fans in the crowd at Bare Bones can vote for their favorite artists. Each vote is $1. The crowd favorite will play a short acoustic set prior to the winner of Shivaree Star on June 1, 2019.
