Slipknot had to put their concert in Phoenix, Arizona on pause Tuesday night. What started as a fun birthday tribute to guitarist Mick Thomson escalated into a full-on bonfire in the crowd.
After singing “Happy Birthday” to the guitarist, fans started a bonfire at the back of the crowd on the lawn of the outdoor amphitheater as Slipknot broke into “All Out Life.” The flames reportedly reached up to 30 feet in the air as fans moshed around it.
While everyone seemed to be having a good time it was enough of a hazard for Slipknot to put their concert on pause until the flames were put out. That process took so long that Slipknot had to cut two songs from their set, “Duality” and “Spit It Out.” Check out footage below.
