Waco Fire to Honor 9/11 First Responders During Ceremony

“The Waco Fire Department will remember the sacrifices made on September 11, 2001,” said Fire Chief Gregory Summers.

“We will never forget those who lost their lives 22 years ago.”

• At 7:40 a.m., all fire stations will pull their machines outside, and firefighters will wear their Class B uniform shirts and stand at attention in front of their assigned apparatus.

• At 7:46 a.m., a general alarm will sound, and all firefighters will stand at attention to observe one minute of silence to remember when the first tower was struck.

• At 8:03 a.m., a general alarm will sound, and all firefighters will stand at attention to observe one minute of silence to remember when the second tower was struck.

• At 9:37 a.m., dispatch will make an announcement over the radio, and all firefighters will stand at attention to observe one minute of silence to remember when the Pentagon was struck.

• At 10:03 a.m., dispatch will make an announcement over the radio, and all firefighters will stand at attention to observe one minute of silence to remember when the plane crashed at Shanksville, Pennsylvania, with 40 souls on board.
