'TIME' POSTS WORKOUT PHOTOS OF PAUL RYAN: Earlier in the day ahead of Rep. Paul Ryan's vice presidential debate last night (October 11th) against Vice President Joe Biden -- the biggest day of the campaign for both candidates -- Time magazine posted a series of workout photos online of the Republican VP nominee. The photos -- some of which are a bit goofy looking -- show Ryan, who's a fitness buff, wearing shorts and a gray T-shirt with a backwards red baseball cap as he pumps iron and smiles. The images were outtakes from a series of photos Time took last year when Ryan, then best known as the top GOP budget hawk in the House, was a runner-up for the magazine's Person of the Year honors. Time wrote, "It was Ryan's fitness regime (and Herculean strength on all things fiscal) that inspired th workout-themed sitting."

You’re probably thinking there’s absolutely no reason to revisit last week’s dreary Presidential debate, but you’d be wrong. The folks at Bad Lip Reading have given us their unique take on the proceedings and the results are just as hilarious and nonsensical as ever.

While President Barack Obama and Mitt Romney discuss cow people, the loss of puppets and taking a bath in eggs, moderator Jim Lehrer offers critiques of their singing voices, encourages them to gaze deeply into each other’s eyes and leads them in a meditative Buddhist chant.

But nothing beats Lehrer’s absolutely nutty song at the end about a pimento shower, machetes and laughing anchovies.

A mobile app designer has created a font called OpenDyslexic . . . which is supposed to be easier for people with dyslexia to read.  The letters are thicker at the bottom . . . which studies have shown makes it less likely that the words on the page will flip around.  He's released the font for FREE, and made it available for word processors, e-book readers, cell phones, and tablets.

Rob Zombie has released the first official trailer for his upcoming film The Lords Of Salem, according to Hitfix. The horror film, Zombie's fifth live-action feature, stars his wife Sheri Moon Zombie as a Massachusetts DJ who discovers that playing a mysterious record somehow activates a curse placed on her town by a coven of witches 300 years ago.

'BAGEL HEAD' TREND ON THE RISE IN JAPAN: A form of temporary body art called a "Bagel Head" is becoming popular in Japan. To get the look, saline is injected into the forehead until it swells into a circle. Then someone has to press it in the center to create the "hole" of the bagel. The process takes two hours but lasts up to 24 hours until the body absorbs the saline. (The Sun)

No less than four albums from Metallica made the Top 10 list of "The Greatest Heavy Metal Albums Of All Time," as voted by the online readers of Rolling Stone magazine. The band's classic 1986 effort Master Of Puppets topped the survey, followed by Black Sabbath's 1970 landmark Paranoid at Number Two. In fact, the only band in the Top Five besides Metallica and Sabbath was Iron Maiden, who landed at Number Four with 1982's The Number Of The Beast.

• Rolling Stone's editors wrote about the poll, "Metal fans are a very passionate bunch. They're also very opinionated, so when we asked them to vote for their favorite metal albums we expected a huge response. We also expected a big debate about the very definition of 'heavy metal.' Some metal fans say that groups like Led Zeppelin and Guns N' Roses are metal. Others think that's completely insane. We aren't here to settle these debates. We're merely here to count the votes."
• Metallica and Black Sabbath also happen to be the only two "pure" heavy metal bands inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. When their induction was announced in 2009, Metallica members James Hetfield, Lars Ulrich, Kirk Hammett and Robert Trujillo were asked who else should be in there: [(Hetfield) "Motorhead. (Frontman) Lemmy is rock and roll." (Lars Ulrich, drums) "I'd say Deep Purple. If you say Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath, you also have to say Deep Purple. They come as a threesome."
